In a bid to double efforts at  tackling the Boko Haram menace in North East, the Nigerian Air Force  on recently bombarded the insurgents hideout, neutralising hundreds of the terrorists.

The attack on the sect came amidst the new order by the presidency to military troops extending the deadline  for the capture of the Sect’s leader Abubakar Shekau.

Speaking on the latest development, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, said the bombardment was carried out in continuation of fishing out Boko Haram terrorists from Sambisa Forest.

“The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) neuralised hundreds of Boko Haram terrorist ‘s in Garin Maloma area of Sambisa Forest. A NAF Intelligence Survellance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform had earlier sighted the Boko Haram terrorists who were gathered under some trees”. He said.

He also  revealed that consequently, a combination of NAF fighter aircrafts namely the F-Ni, Alpha Jet and L-39ZA were  detailed to carry out air interdiction on the insurgents gathering.

“The Alpha Jet aircraft acquired and attacked the target with bombing, neutralizing many of them. Thereafter, the F-Ni aircraft immediately conducted a bomb attack, which resulted in the death of more Boko Haram terrorists.”
“The L-39ZA aircraft then followed through by attacking fleeing terrorists with rockets, killed most of them in the process.” the airforce Officer declared.
